I want to make a backup just in case to upgrade DaVinci Resolve.

How to display the database
Click the icon circled in red on the upper left of the "Project Manager" displayed when DaVinci Resolve is started
By default, "Disk" - "Local Database" is the database in use.
Select the database you are using and select the backup icon circled in red to back it up.
When you specify the backup destination in Explorer or Finder, a dialog confirming backup execution is displayed at the end.

Backup is completed when the following dialog is displayed.
If you have multiple databases, back them up in the same way.
