Please tell me how to update Speed Editor and how to check the firmware (software) version of Speed Editor.
Answer
Normally you don't need to worry about it, but you may be prompted to update the Speed Editor when updating DaVinci Resolve.
How to update
If necessary, the following dialog will appear when launching DaVinci Resolve. It may differ slightly depending on the version and the language you are using.
Update for 18.0.2
"There is an update for Speed Editor."
"Speed Editor Update Available"
17.x update
"Speed Editor update is available."
If it is not connected to the PC via USB, it will look like this:
It will be recognized when connected to a PC via USB.
Click the circled icon above the battery symbol.
<Update>
Wait for a while.
If "Update Failed Please check connections and try again." is displayed, reconnect the USB and try again.
<Done>
You can unplug the USB cable when finished, but DaVinci Resolve may not recognize it right away.
In that case, disconnect the USB cable, restart DaVinci Resolve, and check.
How to check the version
Select [Help]-[DaVinci Control Panel Settings]
If it is not connected to the PC via USB, it will look like this:
It will be recognized when connected to a PC via USB.
By clicking the circled icon above the battery mark, you can check the software version set up in Speed Editor.
It is unconfirmed in the old version, but in 1.4.2, you can check the detailed build by clicking the Software item.
