How to easily copy a clip on the timeline to a desired position on another track

Question

Is there a way to copy a clip on the timeline to a desired position on another track? I think it's a simple operation, but I can't copy it as expected.

Answer

On the edit page, select the clip you want to copy and Alt+drag.
Note that holding "Alt" and selecting the clips to copy will select the audio and video tracks individually. To copy both audio and video, select the clip you want to copy, then press Alt and drag.

It is possible to copy to the location of the red playhead with "Ctrl + C" and "Ctrl + V", but the behavior is slightly different between the edit page and the cut page.

On the edit page, "automatic track selection" (red circle in the figure) is copied to the valid lower numbered track. In the situation below, it will be copied to "Video 1".

On the cut page, "Ctrl+C" and "Ctrl+V" copy to the location of the red playhead in the same track, so I think it's easy to overwrite it with paste. In the case of the cut page, it may be easier to cut the track to be copied to an appropriate length, move it, and then adjust the length of the copy source after copying.
